Description

EF64 0 was produced on the basis of EF62/EF63 as a standard electric locomotive for steep slopes. It is equipped with dynamic braking which provides stable braking power on steep slopes. For this, the side filters became larger. Unlike the 1st version which drew passenger train and freight trains, the 2nd version was manufactured dedicated for freight trains. So it was not furnished with heating, making the characteristic outlook without heating indicator lamp and heating jumper hoses on the skirt. Not only a single locomotive but also two locomotives drew a train in tamdem.
